Like ecosystems, communities are complex and interrelated. Unlike ecosystems, communities have the potential to cultivate and sustain cultures of practice that spur innovation and transform learning, and by proxy outcomes for those who matter most -- students. However, disrupting the predictive characteristics of race, economic status, gender, and cognitive profiles necessitates we approach "problems" differently. Rather than ask, "How can we close the achievement gap?" we might wonder "What does learning that matters to (our) students look like?"
