The Samuel Lawrence Foundation presented, “The Fukushima Nuclear Accident: Ongoing Lessons for Boston," on October 9, 2013, at the State House in Boston. Donations to offset the cost of the event can be made at www.samuellawrencefoundation.org.
A panel of speakers that included former Prime Minister of Japan, Naoto Kan; former Chairman of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Dr. Gregory Jaczko; former NRC Commissioner Peter Bradford; and nuclear engineer, Arnie Gundersen, shared their perspectives on nuclear safety and the future of nuclear power. The panel specifically addressed concerns regarding Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant in Plymouth, MA.
