This panel launches The Future of Higher Education, the 2012 Fall issue of Social Research: An International Quarterly (79:3), which is devoted to the proceedings of the 26th Social Research conference on the same theme. This event is an opportunity to narrow the discussion and focus on how those private institutions that are highly tuition-dependent can effectively respond to the enormous economic challenges they face without compromising the quality of education.
