The Power of Progressive Education: Can Creative Thinking Be Taught? Presented by City and Country School and The New School. Dramatic play, building with blocks, learning from trial and error – classroom or boardroom? Graduate school or lower school lab? Businesses today thrive on people who are creative on their feet, know how to problem-solve and want to collaborate. These are the people who create the next successes. How does a century-old pedagogical movement such as progressive education produce the kinds of entrepreneurs, designers and pioneering doctors that we need tomorrow? The first of a series of conversations, this symposium focuses on the efficacy of experiential, hands-on learning.
