When it comes to Fair Housing and discrimination issues, ignorance of the law is no excuse and it will not protect an association from liability. Therefore, even boards with the best intentions that unknowingly discriminate will be exposed to liability. For this class, we’ve compiled the ten most common instances of discrimination by associations that we’ve observed over the years and will discuss each example in detail. In most of the examples, the boards had no idea what they were doing was discriminatory! We’re sure you’ll be able to relate to at least a few of these!
