Caribu is an iPad app that allows young children and their families to video call and read books at the same time, no matter where they are. The app integrates high quality children’s picture books into a simple video calling platform, to create a meaningful and engaging long-distance communication experience.
Following university, the 4 co-founders, Ben Mallett, Si Dhanak, Philip Linneman and Alvaro Sabido, bootstrapped the development of Caribu in 6 months and launched in January 2014. Along the way, partnerships have been created with publishers and charities to deliver the best children’s content to the audiences who miss story time the most. The team are now working out of the Microsoft Ventures Accelerator Program in Whitechapel, London - feel free to reach out and chat with us.
