19 days after Hurricane Sandy struck Rockaway Beach NY the clean up and recovery is well underway. Now comes the time to think about our children and how they were affected by this terrible event. Let's lift their spirits and restore hope for the kids! The hurricane aftermath has been particularly difficult for children. Like everyone else, they have have lost their homes, belongings and sense of security and often react with fear, sadness and anxiety. The support of grassroots organizations to help the physical needs of the Rockaway community has been tremendous. Now it is time to help them find a moment of joy and hope and during a very challenging time.
