HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, Founder and Chairman of Generations For Peace, will speak about the 18-22 April Advanced Training supported by Samsung. Generations For Peace (GFP) is a Jordan-based global non-profit organisation, founded by HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein and HRH Princess Sarah Al-Feisal, and dedicated to sustainable peace building and conflict transformation. Generations For Peace uses sport, art, advocacy, dialogue and empowerment activities to help communities break cycles of conflict and violence.
By providing unique training and continuous mentoring support to volunteer leaders of youth, GFP empowers them to lead and cascade change in their communities, promoting active tolerance and responsible citizenship and working at the grass roots to address local issues of conflict and violence.
GFP programmes target adults and youth leaders who are influential in their communities; and children and adolescents who are the future of any community. Carefully-facilitated sport-based games, art, advocacy, dialogue and empowerment activities provide an entry point to engage children, adolescents, and adults, and a vehicle for integrated education and behavioural change.
Since 2007, GFP has trained and mentored more than 8,100 volunteers from 46 countries and territories in the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. Their peace-building efforts have touched the lives of more than 210,000 children and youth.
GFP is listed in the “Top 100 NGOs in the World” for 2013 by The Global Journal. Their ranking assesses non-governmental organisations according to innovation, impact, and sustainability.
