The Role of Capability Development in a Changing Organization

This presentation examines what is the role of capability development in a large organization going through a major change. It builds upon experiences with Open Group, and how this sort of professional development helps organizations to prepare for and drive major changes from an organization perspective as well as on ways of working. How certification by a professional external organization helps staff to develop themselves in time to support and drive the changes, not only by training in technical solutions but also the development of other types of skills, eg consultancy.
After 10+ years of business and Finance experience, Paul Nijenhuis moved into IT as of 2000. A broad experience in IT, delivering IT (SAP) projects with a Finance focus, managing projects and teams, being involved in architectural communities to design new solutions, understanding implications on support and related domains as security. Next to that he managed teams through organizational change and set up programs to continue to develop IT specialists and the improvement thereof. He is currently working in the IM domain as well as supporting a major change program with capability development.
