This March 3-5 at Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco, Access brings the RightsCon summit back to Silicon Valley, where human rights experts, investors, corporate leaders, engineers, activists, and government representatives from around the world work to advance solutions to human rights challenges by concentrating on the possibilities within the technology sector. Day #2 at RightsCon continues with Access’s very own Amie Stepanovich, Senior Policy Counsel,
recaps what we have learned about NSA surveillance programs over the last nine months as she puts the pieces into a complete picture. At noon panelists will discuss the impact of surveillance on human rights defenders, documentarians and Journalists. In the afternoon, RightsCon will look at who one the “Crypto Wars” and how Telcos are addressing their human rights obligations under the Ruggie Framework. We will end the day fighting back - 1st identifying and countering network discrimination, followed by Tim Karr talking about ways to strengthen dissident voices by integrating technological innovation with policy reform.
