This video conference aims to give students and teachers a better perspective on residential schools in Canada. Causes and reasons for the creation of residential schools will be explored, while also looking at their repercussions on the lives of First Nations People today by examining the methods of healing and coping used amongst First Nations people as a result of the schools. The video conference hopes to raise an awareness of the history of residential schools and inform individuals on a global scale about the experiences of those who were forced to enroll. The international connections that were created over the years due to the experiences and struggles undergone by First Nations People over the course of time when residential schools were implemented will also be looked at, to understand the scale of residential schools throughout history.
