On March 9, 2013 the California Institute of the Arts Center for New Performance will host TEDxCalArts: Performance, Body and Presence at REDCAT in downtown Los Angeles. This all-day event will gather thinkers, doers and innovators to talk about the big ideas that are shaping our world. Through a series of talks and performances by a diverse array of presenters, our conference will explore how new understandings of performance and liveness are radically changing our experience of art, technology, culture, and politics. CalArts is internationally renowned as one of the leading centers for undergraduate and graduate study in the performing and visual arts and in the critical study of these arts. Speakers and performers include: The Yes Men, Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Franco Berardi Bifo, Nora Chipaumire, Ashely Hunt, Peggy Deamer, Ricardo Dominguez, Chris Kallmyer, Ajay Kapur, Douglas Kearney, Killsonic, Sardono W. Kusumo, Brian Massumi and Erin Manning, Aleshea Harris, Mirjana Jokovic, Jeepneys.
