President Dooley has invited two public safety officials from Brown University to address the URI community and discuss the decision-making process that went into arming their campus police force in 2006.
Russell Carey, Vice President for Planning and Policy, Brown University and Mark Porter, Chief, Brown Police will discuss "Brown University’s Experience with Arming Campus Police."

Members of the University community are encouraged to inform themselves of the issues surrounding the arming of campus police officers and to participate in these public sessions.
