The standard way of thinking about a mobile application is to think of something that the user sees, runs, closes and is done with. But with Windows Phone 8 our apps go far beyond these constraints to become a true extension of the phone, even when it isn’t running in the foreground. In this session, we’ll walk through the possibilities for breaking through the Windows Phone app sandbox as we integrate our app into the phone. We’ll go over the new Live Tile options, lock screen notification and background capabilities, lenses, notifications, and scheduled tasks that allow us to run code at timed intervals.
